The HIG Difference – to become the leading change agent for employer-sponsored healthcare in the United States. Our country has been teetering on a cliff of disaster as a result of ill-informed politicians, poorly run hospital-systems, adverse -to- change health insurance carriers, and the “old crusty” image of an insurance broker selling the above. That simply is not what Health Insurance Geeks is a part of, and why we are so different.
We, the founding partners here gave up what many would call big, good, well paying lives “rotting” in the above system, and just had to throw a stake in the sand and say “enough.” As a result we are growing rapidly, and have found a few areas where our success is unheralded:
- Companies that harness and appreciate internet technology
- Companies willing to fire their insurance broker and sometimes their insurance carrier on the spot
- Companies who are not experiencing decreases in the total health insurance spend annually – if you are reading this and you are not, you need to call us, something needs to change.
We are change agents, and are remunerated just like your current health insurance broker, by commissions paid by the health insurance carriers (stick around, eventually that will change as insurance carriers become less valuable than your advisors, and they change the model. Then you the customer will negotiate directly with your broker, consultant or advisor and hold them accountable to what they deliver).
Then what is the the big difference? We drive your premium down, so we get paid less than your current broker, and also have approved services that we are able to give to all of our clients free of charge. We have transparency here and you always know what we are earning, why, and what you get for your “spend.”
In the words of Thomas Jefferson “Nothing gives one person so much advantage over another as to remain always cool and unruffled under all circumstances” is our motto around here. Others in our industry have their heads in the sand, we however are flourishing as our mission is one that will remain as the country is forced in to a consumer-directed, transparent model.
