Smooth Implementation of Exchanges in Doubt

The General Accounting Office (GAO) has found that while much has been accomplished the smooth implementation of health insurance exchanges by the October 1, 2013 enrollment date is uncertain.

Other highlights include:

  • Opponents of Arizona’s Medicaid expansion initiative may seek referendum.
  • Connecticut’s health exchange may adopt network requirements for carriers that exceed federal standards.
  • Medicaid expansion proposals fall short in Maine, Michigan and New Hampshire but succeed in Nevada.
