HHS Reports on Health Insurance Exchange Costs

Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) report finds that consumers will see lower than projected premiums in the Health Insurance Exchanges. The majority of consumers will have a choice of at least two different health insurance companies – although some consumers will only have one option available
for 2014.

Other highlights include:

  • California’s legislature holds informational hearing on Health Benefit Exchange.
  • Rates on the Illinois state-federal partnership Exchange are below HHS estimates.
  • Massachusetts legislature seeks permanent waiver of new rating rules.
